As I said I would I went to fish the Irwell but found it looking sickly grey brown and no sign of fish rising, hopefully caused by yesterdays heavy rain not from Thursdays pollution.
Moved on to the river Roch and found a in perfect nick if a little low, never ceases to amaze me how the two rivers in Bury can be so different.
Very clear with lots water crows-foot plenty of sun shine only problem was no fish, lots fry and minnows but nothing that wanted my flies. tried for three hours and then gave up.
